Free Christmas Cards! For Real!
Check this out! Shutterfly is offering 50 free photo Christmas cards to bloggers. Nice, right?
I have been searching for cards to send that would work as a baby announcement.
I'm a big fan of this one. I love simple cards. I want my photo to be the stand out image on the card. I like how the red and green ribbons are just a touch of color.
This is another one I like a lot. I've always wanted square cards. They just seem classier in a way. It's also a 1 picture image.
Lastly this one is fun. I could do a couple different images there.
I love that you can add your own personalized message to these cards.

Check This Out: Mouse Path
This is my 'mouse path' from yesterday. I saw it on Door Sixteen on Friday, and wanted to make my own. If you click Here it will download a .jar file and will trace your path as well. The big dots are periods of no movement.
There are instructions at the top of the screen to Save, Restart, etc.

The Office
Someone asked me about my office the other day, so here it is.
I only spend about 2 hours a day in here. An hour in the morning, and an hour in the afternoon.
My desk is on the right with the white coat on the chair.
That's my duct tape crown and sash in the window, leftover from homecoming.

The rest of the pictures are the view from my desk.
I'm normally in here alone, but every once in awhile all 3 of us will be here, along with up to 8 or so students.

Lunch
So this was my lunch today. Spinach, mushrooms, cheese, and a tomato. I have this lunch most days.
I am so tired of my lunch. I need some different ideas, and it has to be stuff that's easy to grab and throw together in the mornings. I am so not a morning person, and I have to be at work and ready to go by 7:30 a.m.
What is your regular lunch?

On the way to church
we had to stop for deer crossing the road. We almost didn't get going again.
This picture was taken through the windshield, and you can see how the ice was not melting at all.

Snowman Ornament
I make a set of ornaments to pass out to family and coworkers every year. This year I came across these from Simple Flourishes, and knew I had to try them. I think they only took about a total of 30 minutes to make 11 of them, not including overnight drying time.
Click on any of the pictures to make them much bigger.
What you'll need:
Styrofoam balls
Paperclips
White Crayola Model Magic Clay
Orange Crayola Model Magic Clay
Hot Glue or Strong Craft Glue
Black paint or marker
Blush - yes from your make-up drawer
Ribbon
I started by sitting in front of the tv watching Grey's Anatomy and wrapping the white model magic around the styrofoam balls. I popped a paper clip in the top of each one for a hanger. I made little noses out of the orange model magic. I let them dry overnight.
I used the hot glue to attach the noses to the heads. The hot glue didn't stay 100%, and it made a blob behind the nose. I would suggest a strong craft glue for this part.
Once I had them attached, I used a black marker pen to make eyes, and add a little detailing to the noses.
Rub a little sparkly blush on their cheeks, tie on a ribbon, and you're done!

30 for 30
My friend Scott wrote this for me.
Thirty good things about turning thirty
1. When they say on the news that Omaha police are looking for a white female in her late 20s, you know they can’t be looking for you.
2. Wes won’t feel quite as old introducing his wife who is still in her 20s.
3. You can start lying about your age.
4. It is probably easier to sign thirty than twenty-nine.
5. You can say you lived in FIVE different decades on New Years Day.
6. It’s a lot more fun drinking because you don’t do it as often as you did in your 20s.
7. You get to go to a job every day with the knowledge you’ll be doing this for another 35 to 40 years.
8. You can wear bifocals without feeling like you are too young for them.
9. You feel great when you get carded.
10. You are younger than ESPN.
11. People get to tell you, “at least you aren’t turning 40.”
12. Six year olds can ask you what it was like to see dinosaurs.
13. Some guys find crow’s feet at the corner of your eyes attractive.
14. No more worrying about acne, now you can worry about gray hair.
15. You are one year closer to collecting a pension and social security!
16. Nobody is going to say “Lordy, Lordy, look who’s 30.”
17. The younger generation can call on your vast knowledge of Cosby Show, Doogie Howser, Growing Pains, Who’s the Boss, and Cheers episodes.
18. You can tell high school freshman, “I am twice your age and I never…”
19. When you have a kid people won’t wonder why you had kids so young.
20. You will never have to go through the grief of turning 30 ever again.
21. Thirty year olds are still going up the hill.
22. When you complain about your sore back people just write it off to being 30.
23. You have 20 more years to do all those things you want to do before you are 50.
24. There are five more years to plan your first presidential campaign and Obama will be out of office so you won’t have to face him in the election.
25. You have license to tell long, boring stories about walking uphill in snow to school.
26. Going to bed at 9:30 is because you are old, no other reason. “I am old” works.
27. Three hundred years ago you’d practically be a senior citizen.
28. You have outlived Janis Joplin, Heath Ledger, and James Dean.
29. You can blame a whole year of indulgences, eating chocolate, buying things, on needing comfort after this milestone.
30. People give you lists like this and it just isn’t so bad.
